Fresno, CA
Parallax was awarded an honorable mention for this entry to the City of Fresno’s competition for a California History Museum. The design solution presents an elegant brick building in an active neighborhood park. The building’s traditional forms and refined details convey a sense of history and civic importance while its gravity and powerful massing create a sense of mystery and permanence. The museum plan provides a dramatic architectural sequence that leads visitors through a 20-foot high doorway to a grand hall and on to galleries, lecture halls and special exhibit spaces.
